The Manos de Mujer Coop is a group of female coffee producers who are located in Marcala, Honduras. The coop started in September 2013 with the goal of improving the living standards of the female members of COMSA who own and operate their own farms. These female farmers are also trying to diversify what they farm so that they can have a more sustainable income year round. They have planted fruits and vegetables, and have started raising chickens, pigs and cows. COMSA’s goal is to promote gender equality at the farms and within the community.
