This coffee is grown at 1100 to 1500 meters above sea level. It is wet hulled and dried on a patio. Harvest season is from May to July.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the government instituted programs to help renew coffee production with an island wide coffee growing campaign by distributing coffee seedlings to local farmers. The Subak Abian is a traditional farming structure organization which grows and processes coffee. The “SA”‘s promotion of improved coffee growing practices is expected to improve not only agricultural technology, but its social and economic standing in Bali.
